Judith Sherwin, Psy.D. developed LifeTalk to represent her work as a psychotherapist and educator. She is a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, has been in private practice for more than 20 years, and her academic degrees include a Doctor of Psychology in Marital and Family Therapy and a Master of Arts in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling.
As a lifelong educator, Dr. Sherwin believes that people enter therapy to learn how to improve the quality of their lives. In order to maximize and expedite a client's time in therapy, Dr. Sherwin uses books (bibliotherapy), films (cinematherapy), and other self-help homework assignments to assist people with their personal journey.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Sherwin is an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University where she teaches courses in marriage and family therapy.
LifeTalk groups, workshops, lectures and presentations include:
• Understanding Stress and Emotional Reactions to It • Dissolution or Resolution: Turning Points in Relationships • What Do You Really Want and Are You Ready to Have It? • Do You Build Up or Tear Down Your Relationships? • Cinematherapy: Movie Perspectives on Life and Love
What are your concerns? Dr. Sherwin provides therapy and consultations to help you improve life choices and facilitate change.
